This season’s Senior County Senior Champion Of Champions Final were held at Darlington. As a club we were represented in the Triples and Fours final respectively.
In the Triples Steve Hanlon, Mal Baker and Frankie Froud took on the Durham’s Alan Bolan. Sadly the lads were left to think what might have been as they went down 20-14, amongst those 20 shots the lads dropped two very costly counts of five.
In the Fours Peter Brickle, David Wright, Richie Mckie and Colin Watson took on Stanley’s Keith Minnis. Following some massive bowls from Colin the lads opened up a 11-4 lead and they managed to maintain that seven shot lead. Going into the final end the Stanley lads needed a six to force an extra end which never materialised leaving the lads 15-10 winners.
